Sony poised to move from Ericsson

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Japanese think very seriously about buy out his partner in their joint venture in 2001. This would be to bring under one roof the phone business, along with tablets and other consoles. And so streamline product development to share some technologies (the Xperia from Sony Ericsson with its PlayStation label).
Negotiations are ongoing and well advanced newspaper said - but it is not the first between the two companies, they are already overturned in the past - and the financing is not known. This would include considering the issue of patent portfolio available to Ericsson. But a buyback of up to 1 to 1.25 billion euros is advanced.

In an interview with the WSJ this week, Bert Nordberg, head of Sony Ericsson spoke of the difficulties encountered by his company: competition from Apple, difficulty entering the important U.S. market, repositioning full Android smartphones to higher value-added etc. (read Sony Ericsson smartphones and just smartphones).
