Un virus infecte les drones militaires américains

UAVs of the U.S. military have apparently been infected by a computer virus.

As a reminder, a UAV is an aircraft without a human pilot on board or not that carries a payload, and is intended for surveillance missions, intelligence or combat including the U.S. military with unmanned Predator and Reaper-like

A priori this virus, it detected 15 days at an air base in Nevada in the United States does not seem to communicate with the outside of the U.S. base, and would not interfere with ongoing missions. However, US Army can not remove it, the latter due to each phase. For now, the danger of the virus has not been determined although investigations are still underway to determine how this virus could be introduced. A track would cause contamination with external hard drives used by pilots to transfer information from one place to another.

This information is not taken lightly by the U.S. Air Force, including the budget for drones is very important. UAVs have already achieved, for example more than 230 missions in Pakistan that led to the deaths of 2,000 people. 150 Reaper and Predator drones have also intervened in Afghanistan and Iraq, or there were 92 interventions in Libya between mid-April and August. And last month a U.S. drone killed a much sought after terrorist, Anwar al-Awlaki. In short, there is a real U.S. combat drills and this intrusion will likely consequences.

The current investigation has shown the weaknesses of the first UAVs, including the lack of encryption of information exchanged, although we should not know a lot more because according to a spokesman for the Air Force
